The island of Ugljan is one of the most beautiful islands in the Zadar archipelago, just a 25-minute ferry ride from Zadar. Olive groves surrounded by dry stone walls, small fishing harbours, secluded beaches and historical remains create an idyllic atmosphere, and the forested interior, dotted with cycle paths, has earned the island the nickname ‘Green Island’.
Ugljan is the 14th largest of the Croatian islands, and fishing villages line the entire 20 kilometres of coastline. The coves on the eastern coast include small towns of Preko, Kukljica and Kali, while the opposite side of the island is largely uninhabited due to its steep coastline. But it is precisely for this reason that it is a favourite with divers. From the remains of ancient villas to old churches and monasteries, you’re bound to find something special wherever you go on Ugljan.
Campsite Ugljan, located on the western, less populated coast, stands out among the island’s tourist resorts. It is immersed in unspoilt nature, right next to one of the most beautiful sandy and pebbled bays on the island. There is also a beach for dogs, plenty of activities and a heated swimming pool, and spacious pitches of up to 240 m² offer a Mediterranean idyll close to the crystal-clear sea.

Island Ugljan, Dalmatia - Zadar region (Croatia)
If you are looking for a holiday where you can get away from it all, there is no better destination than a campsite by the sea, surrounded by soothing nature. Campsite Ugljan is located right next to the beautiful Suha Bay, which is ideal for families with children thanks to the combination of pebbles and sand and the shallow sea with a very gentle slope. There is a beach bar and restaurant on the beach, and sun loungers and parasols provide comfort with a fabulous view of the island of Iž. You can even rent a kayak and explore this and the neighbouring coves, taking the opportunity to enjoy the sunset along the way.
Even if you are not in the mood for frolicking in the sea, a campsite with a swimming pool is a great alternative. The heated swimming pool at Campsite Ugljan is a real eye-catcher thanks to its special design in tune with the environment, and the little ones in particular look forward to it. Around the pool you can enjoy the sunbathing area and relax with a view of the greenery. For those who want to combine relaxation by the pool with outdoor activities, the fitness park in the olive grove next to the children’s playground will provide you with an experience of exercise in a unique environment.
If you want to spend your holiday in close contact with nature, but with a level of comfort that you can’t get in a camper van or a tent, our elegant and modern mobile homes are the best choice for you. Our mobile homes have up to 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. They have fully equipped kitchens, living rooms and beautiful covered terraces. All of the houses are located less than 150 metres from the beach. Whether you’re coming with a small or large group, there’s no need to worry. The most spacious mobile homes can comfortably accommodate up to 8 people. Pets are also welcome!
Campsite Ugljan is a real oasis of Mediterranean idyll, located on the west coast of the island. Clean sea, a bay with a wonderful beach and a view of the Zadar archipelago surrounded by olive and pine trees are the main attractions of this campsite, but its excellent facilities should not be overlooked. Spacious pitches of up to 240 m² are surrounded by evergreen trees that provide pleasant shade. All have electricity, water and some have drainage. Close to the pitches there is a heated swimming pool and a beautiful beach with a beach bar, restaurant and kayak rental. Another special feature of the campsite is the organic vegetable gardens where you can pick seasonal vegetables. Add to this a children’s playground and an open air gym and you have an enchanting destination for the ultimate summer holiday.
The island of Ugljan is a great destination for lovers of active holidays. There are cycling and hiking trails all over the island, which will allow you to get to know the island’s nature in the most beautiful way. Olive groves, hidden coves and pine forests that cover the rocky landscape will give you a glimpse of the island’s unspoilt beauty. You can walk to the highest point of the island, crowned by the 13th century fortress of St Michael (Mihovil).
The 265-metre-high hill can be reached from several directions, but we recommend the path that starts from the small town of Preko. The path is about 3.5 kilometres long and the climb takes about an hour. The path is not too difficult, but it is worth every effort, especially if you reach the fortress just before sunset. There is an incredible view of the entire Zadar aquatic area, including part of the Kornati National Park. The view is a delight to all visitors, who often bring their own food to the fortress and enjoy a picnic with a panoramic view.
When you come to Ugljan, don’t miss out on experiencing this. Choose a pitch that suits your needs and plan your adventures on the lushest island of the Zadar archipelago.
