Novigrad is located on the western coast of Istria, between Poreč and Umag, making it an ideal base for exploring the Istrian coastal towns. A special attraction for families is the Istralandia water park, which offers entertainment for the entire family and has several pools and about 20 slides. And for a great family vacation experience, choose to stay at the Aminess Maravea Camping Resort, which has a large pebble beach that allows dogs, a freshwater pool and a saltwater pool right next to the beach. Young children can enjoy a variety of activities throughout the day, while older children can spend time in the Teen Room, where they can play video games, pool, darts and more. As the largest island in Croatia, Krk has many attractions that make it an attractive destination for family vacations. Krk is connected to the mainland by a bridge and has an airport, making it easy to get here. On Krk, you can spend an active family vacation hiking or biking, visit the aquarium in the town of Krk, or discover a part of Croatian history while exploring the Glagolitic Trail in Baška. With its ferry port, Zadar is also a good base if you want to visit some of the nearby islands, such as Ugljan, Silba and Dugi Otok, and its location in central Dalmatia is also great for those who want to explore national parks, with Kornati, Krka and Paklenica being the closest. Campsite Polari is located in a bay not far from Rovinj and is surrounded by a 2 km long, well-kept beach which, like the campsite itself, offers many facilities for a great family vacation. This has been recognized by the Dutch association ACSI, which declared it one of the best campsites for children in Croatia in 2024. Playgrounds, a trampoline, video games and a floating water park await children at several locations around the camp. In the mornings and evenings, there is an animation program that combines fun and sports activities, and the campsite also has a children’s pool and a spray park with three pools and a water playground. Take the family for a walk and explore sights such as Diocletian’s Palace, Peristyle and Republic Square (called Prokurative by the locals), then choose a tavern or fish restaurant and taste traditional Dalmatian dishes. You can reach the island by catamaran from Rijeka or by a short ferry ride from Valbiska on the island of Krk to Merag on the island of Cres, which will surely be a special experience for your children.
