Pakoštane is a small Dalmatian village situated in a unique environment. Adriatic sea on one side and Lake Vrana on the other - you don't see that every day, do you? Well, if you choose Pakoštane as your vacation destination, you'll be able to enjoy the best of both worlds at once.

Pakoštane offers a mix of natural attractions, historical sites and cultural experiences. Its unique location between 5 national parks – Paklenica, Kornati, Plitvice Lakes, Krka and Northern Velebit – makes it a great base for exploring some of Croatia’s most remarkable landscapes. From its waterfront, you can see nearby islets of Sv. Justina, Veli Školj and Babuljaš that can be reached by kayak or SUP and are a fun way to explore the surrounding waters. The town itself also holds remnants of an ancient settlement, with archaeological sites scattered throughout.

The best time to visit Pakoštane is undoubtedly summer, because in the summer, the town becomes alive. One of the main events is Materine Užance (Mothers’ Customs), an annual ethno-gastronomic event that showcases traditional local foods such as octopus, smoked ham, shellfish, and sweets like fritule and kroštule. Visitors can taste dishes freshly prepared in the town center, creating an interactive culinary experience.

And to leave you with something else to look forward to during summer time: beaches in Pakoštane. Pine Beach, located in a sheltered bay, is sandy and ideal for families with children. Janice Beach, in the center of town, offers a lively atmosphere with food and drink options nearby. Vrulja and Punta beaches are within walking distance and offer pebble beaches and clear waters. For those looking for something quieter, Pilatuša Beach combines rocky and pebbled areas, while FKK Beach, surrounded by pine forest, offers a more natural setting.
