The island of Ugljan is special in many ways. Located directly opposite the city of Zadar, with which it is connected by a fast and regular ferry line, Ugljan attracts visitors with its unique blend of relaxed island lifestyle, rich history, picturesque villages and diverse natural beauty, including numerous bays, beaches and forested landscapes.

Ugljan is connected to the neighboring island of Pašman by a bridge, making it easy to explore nearby towns such as Biograd na Moru and Pakoštane. On the northern side of the island there are quiet settlements with numerous coves and beautiful beaches, while the southern side is characterized by a wild landscape and crystal clear sea.

There are also two interesting islets in the immediate vicinity of Ugljan. The island of Ošljak, the smallest inhabited island in the Adriatic, can be reached by ferry or private boat, while the islet of Galevac, known as Školjić, where the monastery of St. Paul is located, can be reached by rowing boat from the town of Preko.

The island is ideal for an active vacation. Its most visited peak, Sv. Mihovil (263 m), is famous for its large medieval fortress and panoramic view of the Zadar archipelago and the islands of Iž, Sestrunj, Pašman and Dugi otok. An asphalt road leads to the top, making it easily accessible by car, and the paths are well marked for hiking.

Crystal clear sea, white pebbles and numerous beaches, as well as unique views of Zadar and Velebit, make Ugljan a perfect vacation destination. Whether you swim in peaceful natural bays or simply enjoy the sound of the sea, Ugljan offers relaxation and beauty that is hard to find anywhere else.
