Medulin, a small town in the very south of the Istrian peninsula, is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the region. Although a smaller settlement, Medulin offers a wealth of history, natural beauty and amenities that make it the perfect choice for a family vacation or a romantic getaway for two. From dinosaur tracks to modern tourist attractions, Medulin combines the past and present in a unique way.

The Premantura peninsula, one of the most beautiful parts of Medulin, attracts visitors with its wild beaches, crystal clear sea and numerous promenades. Premantura is also home to the Dinosaur Trail, which leads to Cape Kamenjak, where you can enjoy the view of the Porer lighthouse, built in 1846, and the island of Fenoliga, known for its visible dinosaur tracks. This area is rich in lush flora, including 30 protected orchid species. After exploring, relax at the iconic Safari beach bar, and for an adrenaline rush, try cliff jumping.

Medulin can also be explored by bike, thanks to the well-maintained Medulinka bike trail, which passes through the most important sights in the area. The trail begins and ends on the Medulin waterfront, passing hotels and natural oases such as the Medulin pond, home to geese, ducks and many other birds. Along the way there are also cultural monuments such as the parish church of St. Agnes and the pre-Romanesque church of St. Peter on Barbolan.

The archaeological park of Vižula, located on the homonymous peninsula and rich in thousands of years of history, is a special highlight on the route. Traces of Roman civilization can be found everywhere – on land and in the sea. Returning to the Medulin waterfront, you will find yourself in the center of Medulin’s social life, where in summer there is a lively atmosphere full of events and activities. The waterfront is also home to the Malin windmill, a recognizable Medulin attraction that testifies to the rich history of this charming town.
