An unforgettable promenade by the sea: Lungomare

Lungomare is a famous promenade built by Emperor Francis Joseph I, which stretches 12 kilometres from Volosko to Lovran. It was built at the time when tourism began to flourish in Opatija, and its construction took place in stages from 1889 to 1911. The main feature of the promenade is that it runs right along the Adriatic, passing by all the important cultural, historical and natural treasures of Kvarner region.

If you choose to walk the entire path, you will see Angiolina and Slatina Park, a number of luxurious old and new villas and beautiful specimens of trees that provide pleasant shade and intoxicating scents along the way.
