3 campsites on the island of Cres

The island of Cres lies in the Kvarner Bay, with views stretching as far as Istria. Spectacular views of the surrounding islands from the hilly interior, quiet coves and the scent of aromatic herbs guarantee an authentic Mediterranean holiday from which you will return feeling rejuvenated.

Thick oak forests and Mediterranean vegetation combine with a pleasant climate to create a natural aromatherapy. Pebble beaches and coves, accessible only from the open sea, are the main attraction for visitors seeking peace and quiet, and the unique natural beauty of Lake Vrana in the interior of the island is sure to impress anyone. Small towns like Cres and Lubenice will introduce you to the island’s charming architecture, and in the historic settlement of Beli you can see magnificent griffon vultures, endangered birds that are considered the symbol of the island.

Cres is one of the least populated islands in the Adriatic, which means you’ll feel like you’re in an unspoilt natural reserve. This impression also extends to our campsites on the island, where the main aim is to return to nature. From a naturist campsite to a mini family campsite, you will find spacious pitches surrounded by tall trees, some of which have sea views. Camping with sea views

The best way to experience the unique beauty of Cres is to explore different parts of the island. But the most enticing part of the holiday is surely the coastline. All our campsites on Cres are located directly by the sea and have well-kept pebble and rocky beaches with the most beautiful views. At Campsite Slatina you can choose pitches close to the sea, where you will wake up to the soothing sounds and smells of the Adriatic. Take advantage of the campsite to try out some of the exciting sea-based activities – diving and sailing are just some of the many possibilities offered.

Bring your pet along

For many, a family holiday wouldn’t be complete without a pet. If you’re heading to Cres, don’t worry – all our campsites on the island are pet-friendly. Campsite Slatina stands out in particular – in addition to showers and beaches for dogs, it also offers free dog training. There are more than 200 km of beautiful footpaths on the island. So, there is plenty of inspiration for daily walks, even outside the campsites. Spacious pitches in the shade of oak and olive trees offer you and your pet a pleasant environment in which to relax at the end of an exciting day.

Naturist campsite on Cres

The textile and naturist campsite Baldarin is located in the south of the island of Cres, near the village of Punta Križa. It is a combined campste – ¾ naturist and ¼ textile. In naturist camps, the emphasis is on a lifestyle in harmony with nature, and Baldarin is no exception. Surrounded by a crystal-clear sea, the campsite is set in a Mediterranean forest of oak and olive trees. Located in the extreme south of the island, you’ll find a greater variety of beaches – pebbled, gravelly and rocky – but also a greater sense of freedom and separation from the hustle and bustle of the crowds.

Mobile homes for a comfortable holiday

It is a special experience to holiday in a mobile home within a campsite. First of all, you can enjoy the relaxed atmosphere, while at the same time having all the advantages of the camp at your disposal. Only a few minutes’ walk from the mobile home will bring you to the beach, a shop or a restaurant, and you don’t have to give up valuable comfort. Our mobile homes on Cres are under the canopy of Mediterranean trees and have modern facilities. They have 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a living room and a fully equipped kitchen, as well as a spacious covered terrace with sunbeds where you can relax and enjoy the sea.

Top-choice campsite on Cres

Campsite Slatina ****

The west coast of the island of Cres boasts some of the most beautiful beaches on the island, and this is where the award-winning Campsite Slatina is situated. Situated on a terraced hillside, all the plots have magnificent views – you can see the turquoise sea through the Mediterranean trees. Pitches of up to 180 m² can be inside the campsite or partly by the sea, and all have electricity.

Considered one of the most beautiful on the island, the long pebble beach stretches over two bays and has a children’s playground. Part of the beach is designated for dogs. You can try your hand at beach activities such as diving and beach volleyball, and relax at the end of the day with a great massage. In short, Camp Slatina offers a complete holiday in authentic Mediterranean surroundings.

A trip idea: Lubenice village and St. Ivan beach

While spending your holiday on Cres, we recommend you spend an afternoon visiting a special corner of the island. The village of Lubenice is located on the west coast of the island, and the first unique thing about it is its location – it is perched on steep cliffs 378 metres above the sea. This dreamy settlement is often described as an open-air museum, as it was founded thousands of years ago. The view of the open sea and pebble beach below the cliffs is a sight to remember for a long time.

After a stroll around the village and admiring the view, we recommend going down to the beach of St. Ivan, which is regularly included in lists of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Getting there is not for the faint-hearted – it takes an hour to walk the narrow path, perhaps longer because of the steep climb. The reward is well worth the effort – an unspoilt beach whose beauty and crystal-clear waters will leave you speechless.

Choose your pitch at one of the Cres campsites and plan a tour of these and many other gems on an island where nature truly comes first.
