With easy-to-navigate trails and walkways, Plitvice are a great destination for the entire family.

Plitvička Jezera, Croatia's oldest and largest national park, attracts visitors from around the world with its stunning natural beauty. Known for its 16 interconnected lakes of striking emerald and turquoise hues, the park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site celebrated for its rich ecosystems and pristine landscapes.

One of the park’s defining features is its more than 90 waterfalls, which vary in size and appearance, creating breathtaking scenes throughout the year. The most famous of these is Veliki Slap, which at 87 meters is the largest waterfall in the park and in all of Croatia. The park is also home to a network of wooden walkways and trails that make it accessible to visitors while preserving its natural beauty.

The dense forests surrounding the lakes are a haven of biodiversity. They are home to over 1,200 plant species, many of which are endemic, as well as a variety of fungi and mosses. Wildlife is abundant, with species such as brown bear, wolf, lynx and otter inhabiting the park, along with more than 160 species of birds, including rare ones such as the golden eagle.

Plitvice offers a unique experience in every season. Spring is marked by the blossoming of the trees and the awakening of nature, summer is the period when the greenery is at its peak, in autumn the landscape is transformed into a mosaic of different shades of leaves, while in winter nature casts a magical spell that freezes all the waterfalls. Now that is a sight to be seen!

Whether you’re drawn to the tranquil lakes, the vibrant flora or the chance to see rare wildlife, Plitvice Lakes offer an unforgettable journey through one of nature’s masterpieces.
