Start your day in Split with a coffee on the waterfront. In Dalmatia, no one is in a rush, so take your time and drink that coffee for a few hours if necessary. After admiring the view of nearby Brač, head to Marjan Hill. The natural shade of this forest park will make an ideal place to hide from the sun, and if you want to swim, instead of going to the popular (and crowded) Bačvice beach, walk through the forest to the hidden cove where you will find the Bene beach. After you’ve had lunch and rested, you can explore Split’s old town, with Diocletian’s Palace at its center. For the tour, we recommend one of the local guides, who, in addition to a detailed overview of the city’s history, will add a few jokes or interesting facts about life in Dalmatia. During your tour of the city, pass through its narrowest street (only 57 cm wide!) wittily named “Let me pass”. And at the end of the day, what else can we recommend but – nightlife! If you’re not into clubs, make yourself comfortable by the sea, sip your favorite drink and enjoy the relaxation and vibrancy of this truly special coastal town.
