Zlatni Rt park forest – a serene oasis in the centre of Rovinj

A 15-minute walk from the town centre takes you to the Zlatni rt park forest, a 52-hectare protected natural park with native and exotic botanical species. Also known as Punta corrente, Zlatni rt is an oasis of wooded greenery in Rovinj, thanks to the Trieste entrepreneur Georg Hütterott. At the end of the 19th century, he bought the land from which this extraordinary park-forest was born. Rows of trees, paths and clearings are surrounded by cypresses, laurels and holly. Plants such as Lebanese cedar and eucalyptus were given to Hütterott or brought back from his travels.

Zlatni rt is not only ideal for walking and picnicking in the shade, but also for recreational activities. Running and cycling are great ways to explore the many forest paths, and there is also a free climbing rock inside the park, which used to be a quarry. Thanks to its location and proximity to the sea, it is considered to be one of the most beautiful climbing rocks in Croatia. No one will be indifferent to the view of the Adriatic Sea, the Rovinj peninsula and the archipelago. You can enjoy this beauty with your own eyes – book a pitch at one of our campsites in Rovinj, close to the town, and spend a relaxing afternoon in the peaceful greenery of the centre of Rovinj.
