Popular destinations in Croatia with family campsites

Novigrad

Novigrad is located on the western coast of Istria, between Poreč and Umag, making it an ideal base for exploring the Istrian coastal towns. A special attraction for families is the Istralandia water park, which offers entertainment for the entire family and has several pools and about 20 slides. And for a great family vacation experience, choose to stay at the Aminess Maravea Camping Resort, which has a large pebble beach that allows dogs, a freshwater pool and a saltwater pool right next to the beach. Young children can enjoy a variety of activities throughout the day, while older children can spend time in the Teen Room, where they can play video games, pool, darts and more. In the evenings, your children can take part in activities on the stage next to the beach bar, such as a mini disco or movie night, so you can enjoy an evening drink while watching your kids have fun. If you want to take a trip to Novigrad, a tourist train leaves from the campsite beach and runs along the coast to the center of Novigrad.

Island of Krk

As the largest island in Croatia, Krk has many attractions that make it an attractive destination for family vacations. Krk is connected to the mainland by a bridge and has an airport, making it easy to get here. On Krk, you can spend an active family vacation hiking or biking, visit the aquarium in the town of Krk, or discover a part of Croatian history while exploring the Glagolitic Trail in Baška. If you decide to spend your vacation in Baška, stay at Valamar Camping Baška, located next to Vela Plaža, one of the most beautiful beaches on the island of Krk. Choose a pitch in the woods, a premium pitch by the beach, or explore the mobile homes if you want a little more comfort. Your children can spend their days in the swimming pools and on the playground, and during the summer season they can participate in daily activities, as well as spend time in the playroom, which is open at least 5 hours a day.

Zadar

Zadar is known for its rich historical and cultural heritage, but also for attractions such as the Monument to the Sun and the Sea Organ, which attract many visitors who want to enjoy the sunset while listening to pleasant music produced by the waves. With its ferry port, Zadar is also a good base if you want to visit some of the nearby islands, such as Ugljan, Silba and Dugi Otok, and its location in central Dalmatia is also great for those who want to explore national parks, with Kornati, Krka and Paklenica being the closest. Stay at the Falkensteiner Premium Camping Zadar, which is located away from the city center. In addition to the beach, there are also two swimming pools for children, one of which has a slide, while adults can relax in the heated pool at the wellness center. Sport, fun and learning activities are also organized for children, and free swimming lessons are available for children up to three years of age. It should also be noted that children up to 5.9 years old stay for free, while a discount is available for children from 6 to 17.9 years old.

The average price of a pitch for a family of four in a four-star campsite is €50-70 in pre- and post-season, while in high season the price varies from €90 to €120. Pitch prices are affected by: the number of people, the period of stay, the percentage of occupancy of the campsite, holidays, the level of equipment of the pitch and the location of each pitch (closeness to the sea). The tourist tax is included in the price at certain campsites, while at some it is calculated additionally at the reception of the campsite. An environmental tax is also charged on the islands.
