Carnival in Mali Lošinj & Winter camping in Čikat

Carnival season is upon us and one of the liveliest destinations during this period is Mali Lošinj where you can stay at campsite Čikat, since it is open all year round.

Although the peak of the carnival is in March, there are plenty of events taking place throughout February already. Here’s a list of the biggest carnival events in Mali Lošinj:

Maškarana Kroštulijada – Mali Lošinj, 15 February at 10:00

Masqueraders will compete in the preparation of the carnival dessert ‘kroštula‘ in the central square.

MareMonada – Mali Lošinj, 22 February at 10h

A rowing competition in decorated boats in the town’s bay, with a strong chance that some of the participants will take a dip in the cold sea.

Balinjerada – Mali Lošinj, 1 March at 14:00

This is a race using unconventional home-made vehicles, which the masqueraders then ride down the street to the main square at the bay.

Carnival Tuesday – Mali Lošinj, 4 March

The carnival will end on Tuesday with a children’s procession at 10:00, followed by a grand procession of all the masqueraders at 15:00 and a carnival party with live music at the Helios Hotel at 21:00.

Campsite Čikat, Mali Lošinj

Campsite Čikat is one of the best campsites on the Adriatic, open all year round. The campsite is ideally located, partly south-facing, with a coastal path for walking and cycling, leading from the campsite to the north and south of the island, and you can also stroll directly from the campsite to the center of the town.
