Naturist campsite Koversada becomes partially textile

For several years it has been unclear whether or not the naturist campsite Koversada in Vrsar would be transformed into a classic textile campsite, and now a change has been confirmed: Koversada will be undergoing a major renovation this winter, and from 2025 on the campsite will be divided into a textile and a nudist section. It will also no longer be possible to rent pitches on an annual flat-rate basis.

Europe’s first

Naturist campsite Koversada was founded in 1961 and was the first naturist campsite in Europe. It is a very diverse campsite, recognizable by its small island connected to the mainland by a bridge. Another notable feature is its coastline with 5 kilometers of various types of beaches. Guests can choose among pebbled coves, rocky shore or well maintained paved and stone beaches. Another advantage is the fact that the campsite is completely pet-friendly with pets being allowed in all types of mobile homes and there is also a dedicated dog beach. For all these reasons Koversada has been extremely popular among naturists from all over Europe for decades.

New in 2025

In the recent years the campsite has already been renovated and improved, especially in terms of pitches, sanitary facilities and the introduction of mobile homes. This winter however, Koversada will undergo an even more extensive renovation, which will include the division of the campsite into a textile section – called Koversada Covered – and a naturist section – Koversada Uncovered.

The textile section will be located at the beginning of the campsite on the side of the town of Vrsar, while the naturist section will be located on the side by the Lim Channel. The boundary will run between toilet facilities 13 to 14, along the southern part of the sports center (which will be part of the textile section) to sanitary facilities 8 and 16.

By the spring of 2025, the new textile section of Koversada will include 500 camping pitches, 141 new premium mobile homes, several renovated sanitary facilities, a large restaurant based on the MaiEats concept and a new entertainment and animation area.

In the naturist section of the Koversada campsite, 470 camping pitches have already been developed this year, and a new restaurant will be built, which will be run according to the MaiEats concept as well, offering seasonal fresh dishes with an Istrian twist. A new sports and recreation area will also be developed.

Additionally, the coming years will see the renovation of the reception area as well as the villas, and a number of other minor improvements.

No more flat-rate annual rental

We have received further information from campsite Koversada that the they will no longer offer flat-rate annual rental of pitches. Guests will be able to book pitches for a longer period of time via the regular booking system and have various discounts and other special offers available.
