We often go to the Aminess Maravea campsite on the weekends for a day of swimming. The saltwater pool is great and the kids love it. Afterwards we go into town for an ice cream and take the tourist train back. The ticket price is €2.50 per person and the train leaves from the edge of the beach, near the seawater pool.

For those who like an active holiday, I recommend a bike ride along the path that leads from the campsite to Suha Punta and the Kalifront peninsula, which lies northwest of the town of Rab. This is a nature park, so you will have plenty of shade while cycling. For hikers, I recommend climbing Kamenjak, the highest peak on the island of Rab at 408 metres above sea level. You start your hike in the village of Mundanije, near the town of Rab, and then walk for about an hour to the top, from where you can enjoy a beautiful view of the town, the entire island and Velebit.
