Renovation of Arena Stupice campsite – new pitches and mobile homes

Medulin and Premantura in the south of Istria are two popular camping destinations, as they offer several different campsites. One of them is Arena Stupice, a campsite with excellent shade among the pine trees and its location right next to the cape Kamenjak, which can be easily reached on foot or by bike. This winter will see the renovation of the pitches by the sea and the replacement of the old mobile homes.

Each year guests return to the campsite for its beautiful nature, mild climate and the proximity to cape Kamenjak, which offers many beautiful beaches where you can find a quiet spot even in the high season. The campsite is also completely pet-friendly as dogs can stay both on the pitches and in the mobile homes and there is even a dog beach.

The campsite’s beach varies from pebbly coves to rocky areas, with a cove on the south side of the campsite offering some shade. Premantura is also popular with wind- and kite-surfers due to the excellent winds conditions.

Arena Stupice – The traditional campsite

In recent years, Arena Stupice has renovated its reception and a few sanitary facilities, paved some of the roads, but otherwise the campsite remains pretty much the same as it was 20 years ago, which many traditional camping guests highly appreciate.

Ahead of the 2025 camping season, which starts on 12 April and runs until 5 October, the camping pitches will be redesigned and all the old mobile homes will be replaced.

Pitches renovation and mobile homes replacement

The number of camping pitches will be slightly reduced (911 instead of 999), while the number of mobile homes will remain the same (110).
The central part of the Arena Stupice campsite is on a slight slope which descends towards the sea. This is where three terraces will be built to form the first three rows of pitches in the new Zone L (previously Zone S), where 48 Luxury pitches will be set.

In addition, 66 Luxury pitches will be newly developed on the peninsula in front of the campsite. All these pitches will be equipped with electricity, water and drainage, making them particularly suitable for motorhomes and caravans.

As for the rest of the pitches, everything remains unchanged for the time being.

The Arena Stupica mobile homes were really old since the campsite was among the first in Croatia to introduce this still fairly new type of camping accommodation. The plan is to replace all 110 mobile homes with new ones and set them in two locations.

There will be 62 new mobile homes at the seafront in the former zone 300, and another 48 mobile homes in the central area on the south side of the campsite.

All the mobile homes will be very spacious: Each unit comprises of an indoor space of 40 m2 and the additional 17 m2 of a covered terrace. They will offer two bedrooms for up to 5 people, a living room with a TV (an additional TV will be in the bedroom) and a fully equipped kitchen (induction hob, dishwasher, microwave, large fridge). One of the bedrooms will feature a double bed and an en-suite bathroom, and the second bedroom will have 3 single beds. There will also be another shared bathroom.

Guests will be able to enjoy the sun loungers on the terrace of the mobile home and puppies are allowed to stay with them for an extra charge. The rental price includes bed linen, towels and final cleaning.

Other renovations

The renovation plan also includes the installation of a new children’s playground and the renovation of the toilets. The renovation of the sanitary building 1 in zone 100 by the reception has been confirmed, and the sanitary building 3 in zone W, where most of the flat-rate guests are located, is also scheduled to be renovated. The sanitary facility 2 has already been renovated and the others are expected to be updated in the near future too.
