On average, mobile homes in Italy are not as luxurious as we’re used to from campsites in Croatia, but they are usually a little cheaper. Of course, Italy is not completely without high-end camping options: There are premium units available in almost every region. In this article we have come up with a list of options for those who prefer to camp in Italy with style.
There is a wide range of premium mobile homes available in different types and capacities, most of them recognizable by their elegant light brown or grey exterior imitating wooden planks. All these premium mobile homes have large wooden terraces with various imaginative details, such as a bamboo roof or a green fence. The terraces are furnished with a table and chairs and usually with comfortable sun loungers, while some mobile homes have a real garden seating area, ideal for an afternoon siesta.
They also have the advantage of being located in the best parts of the campsites, never hidden away in a secluded corner, but always close to the beach or pools and restaurants.
The accommodation ranges from compact 24m2 units for 5 people with 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom, to larger 35m2 camping villas with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms for up to 6 people. All have a fully equipped interior with air conditioning and all the necessary cooking facilities, and most also have their own WiFi.
The emphasis in these units is on the quality of the materials and finishes. In the kitchen you will find everything you need to prepare meals, plenty of pots and pans and appliances rarely seen in mobile homes, such as an espresso machine, microwave or dishwasher. The bathrooms also have a touch of prestige, with high quality shower cubicles and top of the range sanitary ware. The beds are no larger than normal due to space constraints, but the mattresses are very comfortable and are always praised by guests.
However, some of these mobile homes have a very specific way of booking which many people don’t fully understand and which is sometimes not very user-friendly. They have a fixed-date policy, which means that you can only book units on the dates set by the agency in advance.
For example, if a mobile home is available from 10 – 18 August and you want to book from 10 – 17 August, the search engine will tell you that the mobile home is not available. This sometimes causes confusion for our guests, so we’ve put together some examples of dates at the end of August and beginning of September that are available (at the time of writing) on our portal – and as you’ll see, there are discounts available for most of these dates, too.
