Baška Outdoor Festival 11-13 October

The town of Baška on the island of Krk is well known among guests for its numerous activities. On the weekend of 11-13 October, we invite you to the Baška Outdoor Festival, which combines various sports: mountain biking, running, climbing and hiking, as well as sports animation for children and an evening party by the sea. Take advantage of the low camping prices and come and spend an active weekend on the island of Krk.

The beautiful autumn season at the seaside sounds tempting and from 11 to 13 October (Friday – Sunday), the 10th Baška Outdoor Festival will take place in Baška, bringing together active holiday enthusiasts who love nature and sport.

The event will attract trail running, mountain biking, hiking, climbing and zip-lining enthusiasts and will offer five exciting events that will make for a weekend full of adrenaline, adventure and fun. There will also be a family section with sports activities for children, while non-participants can simply enjoy the seaside and live music.

You can still go camping as some campsites on the island are still open e.g. Krk Premium, Ježevac and a few others.

Baška Outdoor Festival

Zipline Edison – Friday, Saturday and Sunday 10-16h

An excellent zipline on the Treskavac Pass between Punat and Baška, suitable for the whole family. Children go down the ziplines accompanied by an instructor. In recent years, the zipline has been extended to a total length of 2.4 km and offers beautiful views of Baška. The 2-hour descent includes an off-road vehicle ride to the starting point of the zipline and then back.

KRK ‘N’ TRAIL – Saturday at 11.30h

Trail running in nature is a very popular event of the Baška Outdoor Festival.

This year, there will be 7 km, 14 km and 24 km races held, which take competitors through the most beautiful bays of Baška and the surrounding area with breathtaking views of the open sea. More information and registration at www.outdoor.hr/krk.

KRK ‘N’ ROLL MTB MARATHON: Husqvarna Adria Bike Series – Saturday at 9.45h

Baška is very popular with mountain bikers, as it has many well-maintained cycle paths that quickly ascend from the town to the plateau of Baška, from where you can enjoy the most beautiful views of the Velebit mountain range, the sea and the neighboring islands.

There are three routes of 30 km, 45 km and 70 km. There is a separate e-bike category, which starts at 9.45h, while the classic MTB riders start at 10h. Registration possible until 10 October at www.adriabike.hr, entry fee from 45 – 52 €.

TOUCH THE SKY climbing event – Saturday and Sunday from 9-16h

Anima Adventures will organize a climbing event at the Baška Outdoor Festival, which will be adapted to beginners (age 12 years or older). The climbing will take place on two walls, where climbers will be provided with a safety guard. Participation is free of charge.

On Saturday, the climbing will take place at the Portafortuna climbing area, and on Sunday at the Belove Stene climbing area.

Meeting point is at the restaurant Mošuna – Draga Baščanska at 9h. Participants need to bring their sports clothes and shoes, food and drinks. Pre-registration is required as the number of participants is limited. Registration form: here.

ROCKY HILL HIKE TOUR – Sunday hike at 10h

Baška has a number of well-maintained hiking trails and Sunday will be dedicated to a family hike on the west side of Baška.

The 10 km hike will start at 10h (meeting at 9.30h) and will take about 4 hours. Hikers will enjoy a beautiful view of the Baska valley and Velebit along part of the route. The hikers will then head to the Obzova hill (569m), which is the highest peak on the island of Krk, on to the Kunjalabor lookout point and back to Draga Bašćanska. Mandatory equipment: Good hiking shoes, sports clothes, food and drinks. Participation is free of charge, registration required – you can do that here.

FAMILY OUTDOOR CORNER – Saturday and Sunday

For the youngest participants, a sports animation will take place in the park next to the Zvonimir Sunny Hotel from 10-15h. Children will learn how to walk on a slackline rope, test the artificial climbing wall and take part in the mountain biking class on Saturday from 10-12h, no pre-registration required. There will also be a yoga session organized on Saturday and Sunday from 9-10h.

PARTY – Friday and Saturday

On both days, after the sports activities, there will be a party with DJ performances and live music events.

•  Saturday from 14h: DJ set & live concert by the band Queen Sensation.

Camping on the island of Krk
