Pula in the south of Istria is ready for a festive December. On Sunday, 1 December, the Advent in Pula event opens and runs until 6 January. This also includes a Christmas market with stalls that sell food, drinks, sweets and handcrafted products, performances and concerts, and for the first time one of the venues will also be the famous Arena, where a large ice rink will be set up from 6 December, and a concert by Petar Grašo will be held on New Year’s Eve. Near the town, the Arena Stoja campsite is open, offering camping pitches and mobile homes.
The inclusion of the Arena amphitheater will make this years festivities even more special as the venue will be decorated with 111 decorated and illuminated Christmas trees and a lights installation titled The legend of the fairies will tell the story about the builders of the amphitheater. The skating ring will be open from 10am to 10pm (11pm on Fridays and Saturdays) every day from 6 December until 6 January. The 45-minute skating sessions that start on the hour cost 3€ and you can even rent the skates there.
Other venues include the City of Graz Park where children performances will take place and you’ll be able to enjoy freshly fried “fritulas”. Most of the concerts will be held on the Portarata square. The new year’s eve will be marked by the concert of Petar Grašo and the music group Elemental.

The renovated Arena Stoja campsite will be open this winter in the western part of Pula. This year, new pitches have been arranged, one sanitary building has been renovated and is now heated, and modern mobile homes for 4+1 people are available. The campsite’s restaurant and bar will also be open. The location of the campsite is very convenient for visiting the festive city of Pula, as there is a city bus running from stop at the reception, which takes you to the center in 10 minutes.
In winter, the Arena Stoja offers sunny camping pitches near the sea and the price for 2 people ranges from € 25 to € 40 – depending on the type of the pitch.
The campsite also offers mobile homes for 4 + 2 persons, newly built in recent years. All units have two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen with a living area and a large terrace. There are two types of mobile homes available: one with 46 and the other with 57m2 of space.
Only a few mobile homes by the sea are still available for the New Year, however there is more availability earlier in December.
