Funtana invites you to gourmet camping with street seafood feasts

Funtana is a seaside village in Istria, known for its clear waters, beaches, and relaxed atmosphere. Surrounded by nature, vineyards, and history, it offers authentic Mediterranean charm. It’s an ideal destination for a peaceful holiday, blending tradition, seafood, and scenic views along the Adriatic coastline. Funtana also has a wide variety of campsites: from large campsites, to the lovely smaller one.

Gastronomy in Funtana

Camping can be combined with the excellent gastronomic offer in local taverns and restaurants, and in summer there will also organize the traditional “fishermen’s feasts”.

Funtanjanski Gušti

This year the 6th edition of “Funtanjanski Gušti” (roughly translated as The tastes of Funtana) is taking place from 20-31 May, with restaurants Bokoon, Bare, Delfin, More, Histria, Tonia and Oscar participating with their special 25€-menus.

Fishermen’s feasts on summer Friday evenings

Also this summer, Funtana will again be hosting street events, where there will be good food and drinks, and dancing, with live music. The fishermen’s feasts will take place on Fridays and will be held at the marina in Funtana, or just next to the Puntica campsite, where a stage, stalls, tables and benches will be set up. There will also be a special corner for children, where creative workshops will be held, and stands from local associations where you can buy local products.

In 2025, the Funtana Fishermen’s Feasts will take place on the following dates:

6 June, 13 June, 4 July, 18 July, 1 August, 15 August and 5 September. All of them start after 18:00 and usually last until midnight.

Camping in Funtana

Valamar Camping Istra

Located on the peninsula in front of Funtana, so you can get to the fishermen’s feast on foot. It is a superb campsite for family camping with games rooms, children’s playgrounds, heated swimming pools, water slides, two pebble beaches, and more. They offer well-equipped camping pitches, mobile homes for 2, 4 or 6 people and glamping tents for 2 – 6 people.

Camping Puntica

Located right next to the marina in Funtana, where events are also held, so you’re right in the center of the action. It’s a nice small campsite with lots of shade, and you can rent a mobile home at the back of the campsite.

Campsite Polidor

1.5 km from Funtana. A very nice small campsite with excellent pitches (also with jacuzzi), mobile homes (with jacuzzi or private pool) and glamping tents.

Camping Bijela Uvala

Large campsite 1 km from Funtana. It has plenty of shade, several swimming pools, water playgrounds, a games room and playground, and a very varied beach. You can camp on pitches or rent a mobile home.

Camping Valkanela

Another large campsite with excellent shade on the pitches and mobile homes for rent in the first row by the sea or in the upper part of the campsite. A new sports park was opened last year, and the campsite also has a large pool area. The beach is a combination of pebbles, concrete and rocks. A smaller part of the beach with children’s playgrounds also has sand.
