From jacuzzis to elf houses: top 7 unique pitches at Croatian campsites

In this article, we will take a look at the slightly different pitches at our campsites. By “slightly different”, we mean unusual pitches, such as one with an elf house, as well as ones that are a little bit outside the range of classic pitches, such as pitches that feature a private bathroom, a swimming pool, or a jacuzzi.

Most of these pitches are located in Istria and Dalmatia. To stay on one of them, you will need to book well in advance. They are truly special and there are not many, so they often sell out quickly. But don’t worry! Some are already available for rent for 2026, so you can secure one right now.

1. Pitch with a private grill area

We know that barbecuing is an essential part of camping. That’s why having your own covered grill area is such a luxury. You will find this type of pitches in several campsites. In Koversada, the pitches have a small summer kitchen with a grill and a seating area covered by a pergola. They are 100-120 m² and suitable for larger campers. They have electricity and water hookups, and allow pets. You will also find pitches with grill areas at the campsite Mon Perin. These pitches are up to 150 m² in size and have a gazebo, barbecue, and private shower. And one more thing – they are located right next to the sea.

2. Pitch with a private bathroom

Another one of the charms of camping (although it might not sound that way) is using the communal sanitary facilities. But, depending on where your pitch is located, it can be a bit tricky. That’s why we think having a private bathroom, directly on the pitch, would be very convenient. At Koversada, you’ll find pitches with air-conditioned bathrooms equipped with toilets, sinks, and showers. Each pitch also has an outdoor area with an additional sink and a mini-fridge. The pitches are up to 120 m² in size and have electricity and water hookups. At the campsite Arena Stoja, you’ll find all that, including a sea view! Now that’s the real thing, isn’t it?

3. Pitch with a private jacuzzi

Better campsites usually have a shared wellness area that you can use for an additional fee. But what if you could relax in your own wellness area right next to your camper? At Mon Perin, you’ll find pitches with private jacuzzi just 50 meters from the sea. They are 120 m² in size, have electricity and water hookups, and allow pets.

4. Pitch with a private pool

Let’s take it a step further. We know that the swimming pools at the campsites can be crowded, and sometimes we just don’t feel like sharing a pool with strangers. That’s why there are pitches with private pool. And you can find them at the campsite Aminess Avalona on the island of Pag. They range in size up to 200 m² and have water, electricity, and drainage hookups. They are located right by the sea, surrounded by a natural fence, and allow pets.

5. Pitch with an elf house

This pitch will be a hit with families with children and anyone who, in addition to a camper, wouldn’t mind having an elf house on their pitch. The Istrian elves are called Kontići, and they are responsible for guarding the forest. And we’re sure they’d be happy to guard your pitch as well 😋. Each pitch is 80 m² and has electricity and water hookups. They are located in a wooded area of the campsite Lanterna. Nearby, you will find sanitary facilities and a barbecue area. Please note that there are only two of these pitches, and they are quite popular.

6. Pitch with children’s playground

If your kids won’t approve of the elf house, we’re sure they’ll be blown away by a pitch with a wooden playhouse and slide. It will be perfect for those hot summer days when you’re cooking lunch and the kids want to play outside. With this setup, they won’t have to go far – a win-win situation. The Maisky pitches with playground at the campsite Koversada are up to 120 m² in size and have electricity and water hookups. You can also bring your pet. You will find similar, but slightly smaller pitches (up to 100 m²) at the campsite Polari.

7. Pet-friendly pitch

If you’re planning a vacation with your pet, look no further – a pet-friendly pitch at campsite Lanterna is the perfect choice. These pitches are located in a special pet-friendly area at the far end of the campsite, just a few meters from the sea. Each pitch is up to 100 m² in size and has water and electricity hookups, as well as its own barbecue. The area also features a dog beach, promenade, dog washing area, and agility park.
