Photo & Video – We visited the Bijela Uvala campsite

Halfway between Poreč and Funtana, the large Bijela Uvala campsite has been operating for many years. Recently, the campsite has introduced numerous upgrades, rearranged pitches, renovated sanitary facilities, and improved offer for families.

Location and facilities

Campsite Bijela Uvala can accommodate about 6,000 guests across more than 1,000 pitches, as well as in mobile homes and glamping tents. Its great advantage is its location in the middle of the west coast of Istria, as well as the natural shade provided by oak trees.

We especially recommend this campsite to families who enjoy activities, as it is quite lively with many children’s playgrounds and summer entertainment. The campsite is known for the swimming pools, which are located in three different areas. The largest pools are in the upper part, where large water slides were added last year, along with a shallow children’s pool and other fun facilities. There is also a swimming pool near the mobile homes, and this year the swimming pool by the sea has been completely renovated, offering a sun terrace and a renovated restaurant.

The beach at Bijela Uvala campsite is very diverse, ranging from pebble bays to paved areas with easy access to the sea. There is some shade on part of the beach, and guests can enjoy a bar there, while children will have a great time at the water park with inflatable toys. In addition, there are two well-maintained dog beaches on both the left and the right side of the campsite.

The beautifully landscaped coastal path running alongside the campsite and leading to Funtana and Poreč is ideal for cycling trips. It is particularly safe for children as it is separate from the main road.

Camping pitches at Bijela Uvala

The pitches at Bijela Uvala campsite have plenty of shade, are spacious and measure between 80 and 110 m2 on average. All pitches have electricity, and those closer to the sea also have water and drainage hook-ups. These pitches need to be booked well in advance.

In the southernmost part of the campsite there are smaller, very sunny pitches, which is welcome in spring and autumn. In recent years, the pitches in zone G have been completely renovated, and several pitches with private bathrooms and dishwashing facilities have been added. These additional features are especially appreciated by those who find it difficult to use the shared sanitary facilities.

However, we have to mention that five out of eight facilities have been renovated in the last three years. They are very nicely arranged, most of them are adapted for children and disabled persons, and there are also showers for dogs and chemical toilet facilities.

Mobile homes and glamping tents

The Bijela Uvala campsite offers a variety of mobile homes with two or three bedrooms, which are ideal for a comfortable family vacation. All mobile homes are air-conditioned and located near the entrance to the campsite, about 150-200 meters from the beach.

You can also spend your vacation in one of the glamping tents, which also have two or three bedrooms, a kitchen, and some even have a private bathroom and air conditioning. This is an interesting option for a slightly different family vacation, and the rental price is lower than that of the mobile homes.

New features bring even more fun for children

Last year, Bijela Uvala campsite added a new entertainment area, additional playground equipment, and an indoor playroom, which comes in handy on rainy days.

This year, a new area called Town Center has been added to the campsite, which includes an Activities & Experiences Center with playground equipment, climbing frames, large trampolines, and two domes with electronic games and a billiards table. This center also includes a renovated restaurant and a swimming pool, a spacious terrace with sun loungers and a view of the sea. The campsite also has a sports center with soccer, basketball, and volleyball courts, and there is a large tennis center nearby.
