Lanterna Premium Camping Resort: All-in-one Campsite

Lanterna Premium Camping Resort is an award-winning campsite located in Tar, halfway between Novigrad and Poreč. It is one of the largest campsites in the Istria region, offering a wide range of facilities, from entertainment to children’s play areas, sports courts and heated swimming pools. Lanterna has been ranked among the best campsites in Europe for many years, thanks to its excellent facilities and extensive offer, and has been awarded the ADAC Superplatz title. We’ve checked what’s new for the 2024 season.

Among this year’s improvements, we must mention the new Maro children’s playground, the new playroom for teenagers, the two new Valfresco markets, one of which will be on the far right of the campsite in zone K, and the possibility of renting a bicycle, similar to the bicycle-sharing systems in larger towns. Pick-up and drop-off will be possible at one of the 10 locations in the campsite.

A camping pitch for everyone

Lanterna Premium has almost 2,000 well-maintained pitches, many of which are well shaded by oak and pine trees. Most of the pine trees are to the left of the campsite, near the sports park and beneath the swimming pools. All pitches have electricity and water and some have drainage.

In recent years, a number of sanitary facilities have been renovated – two this year alone (No. 14 on the left side of the campsite, and No. 10 near the pool by the sea). Last year, sanitary facility
No. 9 was beautifully renovated in the style of the Parenzana railway station.

Camping with a dog

Campsite Lanterna Premium is also a good choice for a holiday with a puppy, as they are allowed on most pitches and in most mobile homes and glamping tents. There are 3 dog beaches, an agility park, a dog shop and a grooming salon in Zone K on the far right of the campsite, and Happy Dog mobile homes with a fenced yard so puppies can roam freely.

Guests staying at Lanterna Premium with their puppy will also receive a “Wow Wow Pet Friendly” surprise.

Mobile homes and glamping tents

The mobile homes at Lanterna Premium are very varied. The mobile homes in Marbello Village are the closest to the sea and have two or three bedrooms, while for families with young children we recommend the mobile homes in Maro Village, which also has several playgrounds and two heated swimming pools. For a romantic getaway, there are also smaller cottages in the Punto Blu village, located in the upper part of the campsite, with beautiful views of the sea and nearby Novigrad. The village also has an interesting infinity pool and bar. Alternatively, you can rent one of the 4-6 person glamping tents located on the right hand side and upper part of the campsite. These are modern, air-conditioned tents and puppies are allowed.

Beach and swimming pools in Lanterna Premium Camping

The beach at campsite Lanterna Premium is also very varied. The central bay has been redesigned a few years ago to make it more suitable for younger children, as it is sandy. There are also a couple of pebbled coves that can be reached by a seafront path, but if you are looking for more seclusion, we recommend the rocky beach on the cape to the left of the campsite.

The pool area of Camping Lanterna is divided into a section by the sea, where there is a children’s playground next to the swimming pool, and the Aquamar Lanterna pools with slides, a pirate ship and many other facilities in the upper part of the campsite. Some of the pools are heated.

There are also two smaller heated pools in the Maro mobile home village, a small pool by the glamping tents and an infinity pool in the Punto Blu village.

Sport and entertainment

Campsite Lanterna is the right choice for those who want to have fun while camping. A variety of activities are organized every day: From children’s games to group workouts for adults and live music in the central square at weekends.

There is also a large sports center with tennis, basketball, football and badminton courts, a skate park and an impressive 18-hole mini-golf course. There is also a beach volleyball court by the sea and two inflatable playgrounds on the water.

Campsite Lanterna also has excellent age-appropriate children’s entertainment, including a mini disco and evening cinema shows, and for teenagers there is an additional games room and entertainment center.
