Mon Perin: Istrian campsite with wellness, heated pools and saunas
Autumn is the time to look for campsites that offer heated swimming pools and wellness facilities. Campsite Mon Perin in Bale, Istria, which has a wellness area with a heated swimming pool and saunas, will be open until 2 December.
Town of Bale
Bale is a quiet town south of Rovinj, known to campers mainly for the campsite Mon Perin, which is set by the sea. The location is famous for its beautiful coastline and pebble beaches, and there are plenty of walking and cycling options in the surrounding area. There is a free shuttle service from the campsite to the town of Bale several times a day, where you can walk through the narrow streets of the restored old town.
Not far to the north from the campsite you will reach the Palud Ornithological Nature Park. It is a marshland close to the sea, home to a wide variety of birds. You can cycle along a gravel path to the campsites of Veštar and Polari, and through a beautiful park to Rovinj.
If you head south, you can take a trip to the World War I military sites or head down to Barbariga, Fažana or Pula.
Campsite Mon Perin in late autumn
In recent years, campsite Mon Perin has been extensively renovated, with new pitches, spacious mobile homes and, at the edge of the campsite, luxury pool villas. There is also a new sports park with football, basketball, tennis, mini-golf courts and a fitness center.
Particularly interesting is the new wellness area in the central part of the campsite, where you can swim and enjoy the saunas. The campsite will be open until the beginning of December, but only in zone B of the San Polo area, where there are the Mega Comfort and Luxury Mare sun pitches and mobile homes. After a two-month break, the campsite will reopen on 14 February 2025.
The pitches are of various sizes and you can choose between sunny and shady ones, all with electricity and water, some even with a drain. There are several smaller sanitary facilities next to the pitches, but those are not heated.
The mobile homes and luxury villas accommodate 4-6 people and all of them have at least two bedrooms, a bathroom, a kitchen, a large terrace and are, of course, air- conditioned.
The most prestigious are the mobile homes with a private jacuzzi and the villas with a private heated pool.
New Wellness Center with Saunas
New this year is the Saltwater Oasis Wellness & Spa Center, located in the San Polo section of the campsite and open daily from 10 am to 9 pm, with saunas open until 7 pm.
It is a modern wellness center for adults only, with an indoor and outdoor heated seawater pool with a massage area.
There are also Finnish, infrared and Turkish saunas as well as a tropical rain shower room, a gym, a room for salt therapy, a variety of massages, a beauty center offering facial and body treatments, a relaxation area and an outdoor sun terrace.
The heated swimming pool is free for guests staying in the Luxury and Premium Mare villas, mobile homes and pitches, while a visit to the saunas costs 12 € per person. Guests staying on Premium and Comfort pitches and in glamping tents pay 20 € for pool and 30 € for pool + saunas, while external guests pay 25 € for pool and 40 € for pool + saunas.
Pitches and mobile homes in campsite Mon Perin
Most of the pitches at Mon Perin are directly by the sea, so you are close to the beach no matter which pitch you choose. There are some large pitches (150m2) by the sea, equipped with water, drainage, a gazebo, private shower and barbecue. In recent years, new camping pitches have been built, the sanitary facilities have been renovated, and a large Paleo Park swimming pool complex with dinosaur models has been built.
Campsite Mon Perin offers modern and spacious mobile homes for rent. The basic model is the Deluxe for 4+2 people (32 m2), then there are larger houses of 40 to 60 m2 with large terraces. Last year, the San Polo Prestige mobile homes (42 m2) were added near the new wellness area and the outdoor swimming pool. Those are equipped with glazed terraces (36 m2) so that guests can enjoy them even on cooler days. All mobile homes are air-conditioned, have a fully equipped kitchen, one or two bathrooms, and some mobile homes also have a jacuzzi next to the terrace.
Dogs are allowed in the mobile homes for an extra charge.
Porto Bus Luxury Villas
The Porto Bus Villas are located at the southernmost part of the campsite. Two types of units are available:
- The smaller villas for 4 + 1 persons (area 67 m2) with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, kitchen and terrace with Jacuzzi.
- The larger villas for 4 + 2 persons (125 m2), which have two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a large kitchen with lounge and a large terrace with a private heated swimming pool.
Dogs are allowed in these villas by prior arrangement.
